Why choose RePractice

As consumers, we are becoming increasingly future-focused and environmentally aware. Consequently, we are more likely to want to be engaged in environmentally friendly behaviour. Growing environmental consciousness is driving consumer purchasing decisions and there is demand for more environmentally sound products.

Our patients already trust us with their health, but they are also increasingly seeking out healthcare providers who are also environmentally concerned and proactive in practice. Don’t get left behind – choose RePractice for a more eco conscious future.

An environmentally sustainable solution

To achieve a high level of infection control, dental practitioners use plastic barriers and single-used items to protect equipment and surfaces in order to prevent cross-contamination.

RePractice plastic products are exclusively manufactured with the addition of TDPA™ (Totally Degradable Plastics Additives). TDPA™, when added in small quantities to the most common and widely used commodity – resins – during the manufacture of finished plastic products, causes the modified plastic to degrade at a controlled rate. The overall process from polymer to water, carbon dioxide and bio-mass, is called oxo-biodegradation.

Test results and proven scientific studies have verified that products incorporating TDPA™ will eventually degrade, disintegrate and biodegrade. When disposed of in soil in the presence of microorganisms, moisture and oxygen, the products will degrade, decomposing into simple materials found in nature. The products will degrade into non- toxic end-products within 1-2 years (3-5 years for harder plastic items). The additives are non-toxic and do not affect the strength, nor compromise the capabilities of the plastic for its intended purposes. The plastic products made using TDPA™ technology are called oxo-biodegradable plastics.

These more environmentally friendly plastic barriers and single-used items are currently a speciality niche, as not many manufacturers have a licence to use TDPA™. Be ahead of the curve by becoming an early adopter of this environmentally sustainable practice – for the sake of your patients, your conscience and the world we live in.
